About Us
Jeremy Howard Photography is a wedding, portrait, corporate, and just about anything else photography company based in Nashville, TN. With family in St. Louis, MO, we are also able to provide service to that area as well. We are always available for travel regardless of location and would be happy to discuss pricing with you. We are experienced in wedding photography, portraits, corporate headshots, and even event photography and love what we do.History
When we set out to create a photography business, we sought to combine two areas of expertise: Beka has been a wedding planner for several years, and Jeremy has been taking pictures since he was a kid. We wanted to merge those two abilities in to a business that would help others in an artistic way. We started out shooting as assistants at weddings before going on to book our own, and along the way, we were asked to do corporate events and even covered some university sports and extracurricular events. From there, we were invited to do family events, and since then, we have decided that we are able to branch out in to just about any function in which a photograph can be taken.
What to Expect
We aim to be as straightforward with you as possible. This is one of the main reasons we keep our price lists available online. We want you to be informed! All of our available print options and event prices are posted on the Prices page because we feel that it is essential that our customers know what they are getting and for how much. We can't stand hidden or extra charges, so we shoot for transparency in pricing on everything. There is nothing worse than planning out your dream wedding and meeting your budget only to find out you will owe another high dollar amount just to get your prints. We work off of contracts that are signed in advance of an event so we know exactly what you want and you know exactly what you will get. If you have any special requests, we will be do our best to accommodate those. For weddings and events, the only pre-set shot list we use is the one you give us. If you prefer a more laid-back, photojournalistic approach, we'll be happy to oblige that request. If you like the more traditional approach, we're more than ready to do that as well. It's your wedding, so make sure the photographer knows what you want!
How We Operate
Upon initial contact and establishment of a timeframe for an event, we like to have a few meetings with you. These are done in casual environments outside a house or studio because they seem to make both parties feel more relaxed. Our first meeting is more of a "get to know you" meeting to see what you are looking for, to get an idea of the overall scope of the event. The second meeting will get more down to business. We will have a contract ready that will ensure the reservation of your date if you have not already secured it with a deposit, as well as outline the terms and conditions. We get the names of people involved in the event, set up the times for everything, and get the event basics under control. At the third and final meeting, we see if you have any other requests that you may not have thought of earlier, as well as tie up any other loose ends.
For our wedding clients, we let you pick the location for your bridal/groom/engagement session unless you want us to pick a spot. We've been all over middle Tennessee and have several great spots in mind if you are unable to think of a good location. Part of our "get to know you" session helps establish what kind of locales would be good.
Our shooting style is mixed and is adaptable to almost any situation. Our philosophy on your pictures is that they should reflect the reality of what happened. We don't make use of Photoshop as a means of altering your image to be something completely different than what actually happened. On the flipside, we do offer image correction when it comes to removing blemishes or distracting objects from your photos (power lines, distracting background objects, etc.). For weddings, we shoot however you want us to shoot. We can shoot the structured, posed shots that create timeless photos, or we can shoot the unstructured, photojournalistic style -- or a combination of both!
Anything Else?
What are we missing that you would like to know? E-mail us with your questions, because if you have them, we're sure others do as well! We don't have any e-mail lists to put you on or have any kind of follow-ups to try to get you to buy, so don't worry about any unwanted communication. We just want to be your full-service photography company that you can trust and rely on from beginning to end.
